TEGEI
Empowering Girls & Single Mothers to Rise and Thrive
The Esther's Girl Empowerment Initiative transforms lives through education, economic empowerment, and holistic wellbeing, helping women and girls discover their God-given potential.
Who we are
Called to Rise, Equipped to Lead
The Esther’s Girl Empowerment Initiative (TEGEI) is a faith-inspired organization dedicated to transforming the lives of school girls and single mothers across communities. We believe every woman and girl has inherent worth and potential waiting to be unlocked.
Like Queen Esther in the Bible who rose from humble beginnings to become a voice for her people, we empower women and girls to discover their purpose, develop their gifts, and become leaders in their communities.
We believe that when women and girls are empowered with knowledge, skills, confidence, and opportunities, they can break cycles of poverty and become agents of positive change in their families and communities.
Our Focus Areas
Education Empowerment
Providing access to education, mentorship, and learning resources that unlock potential and build confidence.
Economic Empowerment
Equipping single mothers with vocational skills, entrepreneurship training, and microfinance support for sustainable livelihoods.
Health & Wellbeing
Promoting physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing through health education, hygiene, and nutrition training.
Our Cause
Across many communities, school girls and single mothers continue to face systemic barriers that limit their ability to learn, earn, and live with dignity. Early school dropout, economic vulnerability, limited access to health information, and social marginalization place girls and women at heightened risk of long-term poverty and dependence.
For school girls, lack of mentorship, inadequate learning resources, and poor health and hygiene support often result in interrupted education and reduced life opportunities.
For single mothers, limited vocational skills, restricted access to capital, and unstable income sources undermine their ability to provide for their families and participate fully in economic life.
At The Esthers’ Girl Empowerment Initiative (TEGEI), our cause is to break these cycles of limitation by addressing the root causes of inequality rather than the symptoms alone. We believe that sustainable change occurs when women and girls are equipped with education, practical skills, health knowledge, and the confidence to lead their own transformation.
